Asked by Devin Harris
Ivan had to have a tooth pulled. He was afraid it would hurt.
Ivan’s dad told him not to worry. “You will have medicine, so it won’t hurt.”
But Ivan worried anyway. What if it did hurt? He talked to his Uncle Claude about it.
“Well, do you trust your dad?” Uncle Claude asked.
“Of course I do,” said Ivan.
“Then you should know that he is telling the truth. The medicine will probably help it not hurt,” said Uncle Claude.
“What if he is wrong?” asked Ivan.
“It seems to me that you have every reason to trust your dad,” said Uncle Claude.
Ivan listened to Uncle Claude. At the dentist office, the medicine worked. Ivan didn’t feel a thing! He was glad he had trusted his dad.
