If you want to check yourself: for a table of pairs (x,y) compute y/x for each row. If y/x is the same constant for every row and equals the coefficient in the equation, that equation matches the table. For example, if every row has y/x = 13 then y = 13x matches; if y/x = 43 then y = 43x matches, etc.
