Reply back professionally to the following first with gratitude for the response, I can understand Tias late assignment submission on October 14 m, 2025 in which she submit it with October 30, 2025.

however on aug 29, 2025 due date is mentioned to be submitted by 11:59 pm. I believe that will confuse your scholars if the assignment is due during class period.

Can I suggest that the assignments due date needs to be adjusted to the accuracy class period ? Also what happens if your scholars is not understanding the assignments due your absence, is it fair that they still be marked absent due to this matter?

The reason that tia was marked absent both days, is because she submitted the assignment assignments late, not during the assigned time period.

Thank you for your response — I appreciate the time you took to explain the situation. I understand that Tia’s October 14 assignment was submitted late (it was turned in on October 30).

I do have a couple of concerns and a suggestion:

- On August 29 the assignment’s due time is listed as 11:59 PM. If an assignment is intended to be turned in during class, a 11:59 PM deadline could be confusing for students and families. Could you please clarify whether that 11:59 PM time was intentional?
- To avoid future confusion, may I suggest aligning the posted due date/time with the actual class period (for example, “due by the end of class” or set the deadline to the class end time), or explicitly stating “submit during class” in the assignment instructions?
- If a student does not understand an assignment because you were absent or were unable to provide clarification, what is the policy for marking attendance and grading the work? Is it standard to mark students absent or penalize them when the confusion stems from lack of instruction? Please let me know what supports or accommodations are available in those situations (extensions, make-up work, etc.).

For clarity: my understanding is that Tia was marked absent on both days because her assignments were submitted late and not during the assigned time period. If that is correct, please confirm. If there is any possibility of reconsidering the attendance or late penalty given the confusion about the deadline, we would appreciate your guidance on next steps.

Thank you again — I appreciate your help clarifying this so we can prevent similar issues in the future.
