two planes take off from an airport at the same time and head in opposite directions at 260 mph and 275 mph respectively. in how many hours will they be 1605 miles apart?

Make a drawing for this one. It's a very easy way to do it. Draw a dot where they both take off and then label distances apart..and keep adding the distance until you get to 1605.

52:55 (divided both Numbers by 5)
52+55=107

Plane A
52/107*1605=780
Plane B
55/107*1605=825

check: Plane A + Plane B
=780 + 825
= 1605 Which is miles
