Correction for point 2: Met is carried by the initiator tRNA (and loaded by methionyl‑tRNA synthetase); AUG is the start codon whose bases pair with the tRNA anticodon. Not every mature protein retains the initial Met (it is often removed post‑translationally), and internal Met residues are also encoded by AUG.
