Getting nonrenewable resources like coal, oil, and metals can pollute the air and water and destroy animal homes because mining and drilling dig up land and make waste. When the population grows, more people need energy, cars, and products, so companies dig and burn more of these resources, which makes the pollution and habitat damage worse. Another big impact is that these resources can run out; with more people using them faster, supplies shrink sooner and prices can go up, sometimes causing shortages. Because of this, people try to save resources and use renewable energy so we don’t run into bigger problems.
