There are 16 tennis players in a single elimination tournament. How many tennis mathches will be played during the tournment?will it be 8 or 2 if not..what?

Round 1 = 8 matches and 4 winners
Round 2 = 4 matches and 2 winners
Round 3 = 1 match and 1 winner
