How many revolutions are made by a 28inch bicycle wheel min over one mile

Answers

Answered by Ms. Sue
C = pi * r^2
C = 3.14 * 14^2
C = 615.44 inches

1 mile = 63,360 inches

Divide the inches in a mile by the circumference.

Answered by Ms. Sue
Ooops! I goofed.

I used the formula for the area, not the circumference.

C = pi * d
C = 3.14 * 28
C = 87.92 inches

63,360 / 87.92 = 720.655141 revolutions

Sorry for the error. I hope it didn't cause too much confusion.

And thank you, Reiny. :-)
