please excuse my dear aunt sally. which means first do parenthisis exponents multiplication division add and then subtract.
following those rules, first you multiply 4*2=8 then 24/8=3 15-3=12 therefore you cant get 3 if you follow the order of operations.
now if you really want to get 3 then you;
24/4=6 6*2=12 15-12=3 but that's not correct.
