A baker used 16 pounds of flour and 12 cups of sugar to make several batches of cookies. the baker used the same amount of flour and sugar in each batch of cookies. what is the number of batches the baker could have made with his flour and sugar?

He could have made 8 batches or 16 batches or 32 batches or 48 batches.

He uses 4 parts flour to three parts sugar.
If each batch contained 1 pound of flour and 3/4 pound sugar, then he could make 16 batches. But if each batch contained 2 pounds of flour and 1 1/2 pounds of sugar then, he made 8 batches.
If he made a small batch with 1/2 pound of flour and 3/8 pound sugar, he be able to make 32 batches.
If each batch contained 1 pound of flour and 3/4 pound sugar, then he could make 16 batches. But if each batch contained 2 pounds of flour and 1 1/2 pounds of sugar then, he made 8 batches.
If he made a small batch with 1/2 pound of flour and 3/8 pound sugar, he be able to make 32 batches.
