My turn to be Ryder: Cgase, it's all up to you! You dude the winch, and your pup pack, to bring up the man, and the truck to safety, off the bridge, from falling!

Ryder, copy — I’m on it!

I lock the winch, spool steady and humming. Pup pack goes on my back — harness snug, carabiners clipped. I throw an anchor over the bridge beam, take a hard load in with my legs, then ease tension through the winch: just enough to keep the truck from sliding, not so much we shock the rig. “Hold tight!” I bark to the man in the cab; he braces, hands on the wheel, feet ready. I clip a safety line to his harness and double-check the knot.

Slow, smooth pull now — winch taking inches, pup pack leaning into the load to stabilize the angle. The truck groans but begins to creep away from the edge. I talk the whole time: “Eyes on me, on three we’ll shift weight — one, two, three, steady!” The bridge creaks, but the anchor holds. We inch, inch, inch… and then the rear tires find pavement.

With the truck secure, I run a secondary line under the axle, snug it up, and walk the man across to safe ground. Pup pack off, I give him a hand up. Truck fully off the danger zone. Breathes all round. “We’re good, Ryder — man and truck safe. What’s next?”
