Over these past four years I’ve come to see that my God-given gifts are a blend of technical discipline, expressive musicality, and a patient, encouraging spirit—qualities that my dance training has only sharpened. Mastering fouettés taught me endurance, focus, and the courage to keep trying until the turn finally clicks; the power and buoyancy I find in a calypso jump showed me how joy and athleticism can coexist; working on my extension revealed how patience and steady daily progress change what my body can do; and refining my port de bras helped me understand how much storytelling and emotional honesty matter in performance. High school rehearsals, leading warm-ups, and helping younger dancers in class made it clear that I’m not only a performer but also a teacher and leader. After graduation I plan to study dance in college (and possibly pursue choreography or education), audition for summer intensives and companies, and continue teaching community classes—using the discipline from fouettés, the lift from calypso jumps, the reach of my extension, and the expressiveness of my port de bras to inspire others and glorify God through movement.
