Q: What is the difference between 'advertisement and commercial?

They are about the same. But an advertisement is usually in print in a magazine or newspaper or a flyer. A commercial is usually verbal on TV or the radio.

We might say that we heard an advertisement on TV. But we wouldn't say that we read a commercial in the newspaper.
