A ball is rolling on a track with an intial velocity of 2.0m/s, E. If the acceleration is 1.5 m/s2, write a sentence that describes the ball's motion, i.e, what does the ball do each second?

If I calculate the time, I get 1.3seconds. I assumed the ball is moving changes its velocity every 1.3 seconds?

Your statement does not answer what you have been told to describe: What is the ball doing each second? What did Galelio find?
Answered by Jane
It's moving 2 meters every second.
Answered by bobpursley
no. If it were moving 2 meters every second, it would be moving with constant velocity of 2m/s, with zero acceleration.

Acceleration of 2m/s^2 means

(2m/s)/each second

That is, it increases its velocity by 2 m/s each second.
2,4,6,8, ...

Oh I see. What does that have to do with Galileo? I know about his objects with different masses don't determine which will fall first. Is there another concept?
Answered by bobpursley
Galileo first discovered that gravity accelerated objects, and all were accelerated at the same rate. He postulated by geometric arguments that acceleration was a constant increase in velocity.
