The first characteristic of professionalism is accountability which is defined as working without excuses. Second is reliability defined as showing up on time. Third is respectfulness defined as treating others with courtesy. Fourth is continuing to improve in areas required for a medical assistant rule. Last but not least, the fifth characteristic of professionalism is being honest, following rules, and doing what is morally right.
