An Afternoon of Modern Art

On saturday, I went to the Bates County Museum of Art with my parents. We saw the new modern art exhibit, and it was pretty strange. There were one painting that didn’t really look like anything but slattered paint. Another painting was made out of foil and torn paper. There were also lots of crazy statues made out of metal, bottles, and cans. One even made out of bicycle parts. Did I mention that we ate lunch first? Anyway, the exhibit might be interesting for somebody who like modern art.

1 answer

The passage includes a few details that support the main idea.

While the writing provides some descriptions of the artwork and the experience, it lacks clear focus and fails to develop the main idea effectively. The supporting details (e.g., descriptions of the painting and sculptures) are somewhat disconnected and do not elaborate enough on the experience to convey a strong impression. Therefore, according to the rubric, it meets the criterion of having "a few details" without providing sufficient clarity or depth.
