Social Media Setup

The time has come—you’ve decided to start your early childhood education business! You have created a schedule, budget, and policies and even have a few families that have enrolled their children, but you still have three spots to fill. To do this, you’re going to advertise on social media, leading to a sales funnel via email. For this activity, you will design the “grid” of nine (3x3) most recent social media posts that will show on a social media platform when a potential customer looks at your profile. You will select images and write text for these nine recent posts, based on your target market.

You may use any of the information you’ve learned so far to generate a target market. Maybe you will cater to children with special needs or those with certain dietary restrictions. These choices will impact the visual and textual elements of your social media posts.

To create this grid, you may use either an online tool like Google Slides, Google Docs, etc., a desktop program like Microsoft PowerPoint or Word, or even a poster board.

You may want to do a bit of research on grid layouts—some accounts alternate image posts with posts of an inspirational quote or testimonial. There are lots of possibilities about how this can look.

The only requirements for your grid are:

It contains nine images (in a 3x3 formation).
You supply the text that will accompany those images. (You can turn this in on a word processing document, as long as it is clear which text goes with which image. This text does not need to be long—a anywhere from 5 to 50 words per image is great!)
You’ll also reflect a bit on how this social media profile attracts your target market by thoughtfully answering the following questions in a separate document:

Who is your target market?
What are two aspects of your grid that would specifically appeal to this market and why?
To complete this activity, submit your grid and your two word processing documents (text that accompanies images and your reflection questions).
