Reflective Journal on My Career Survey Results
After completing the interest survey in the educational planner, I found out that my results strongly align with the career cluster of Arts, Entertainment, & Design. I was excited to see this because I love being creative and expressing myself through art and design.
One of the careers that caught my attention within this cluster is becoming a graphic designer. Graphic designers create visual content to communicate messages. They work on things like websites, advertisements, and logos. I find this job really interesting because it combines creativity with technology, allowing me to make art that can be seen by many people.
To be a successful graphic designer, there are certain skills and knowledge I will need. First, I will need to be good at using computer software like Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, which are tools that help create designs. Additionally, having a strong sense of color, typography, and layout is important to make designs visually appealing. Some essential skills include creativity, attention to detail, and good communication, as designers often work with clients to bring their ideas to life.
In terms of education, most graphic designers have at least a bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field. This helps to build a strong foundation in design principles and technical skills.
According to my research, graphic designers typically earn a decent wage. The average salary is around $50,000 per year, but it can vary based on experience and location. Furthermore, the job market for graphic designers is expected to grow in the coming years because businesses are increasingly focusing on digital marketing and online presence.
Overall, I feel really inspired by my survey results and the career path of graphic design. I believe it fits my interests and abilities well and could lead to a rewarding future in the Arts, Entertainment, & Design field.
