In quiet corners where shadows softly fall,

You bounded in sunshine, with joy in your eyes,
A furry companion beneath open skies.

With wagging tail and a heart full of grace,
You brought boundless laughter, a warm, friendly face.
Through fields we would wander, side by side,
In the tapestry of life, you were my guide.

Now the leash hangs empty, the bowls sit still,
Echoes of barking creep up from the hill.
The toys lie untouched, beneath layers of dust,
The moments we shared, in love and in trust.

You taught me of patience, the art of a pause,
To find beauty in simple, to love without cause.
Through storms and through sunshine, through trials, through play,
Your spirit still lingers, though you've gone away.

In twilight's embrace, I can still hear your song,
The soft padded footsteps that once carried me along.
