I mostly agree with Michael, who supported the War Measures Act. While some innocent people were affected, thankfully none lost their lives or were seriously hurt. The October Crisis shows what can happen when people think they can handle things themselves instead of resolving issues through peaceful means. Using bombs and hurting people and property isn’t the right way to argue for independence. I think restoring peace was the right choice, and violence wasn’t the solution to get the results they wanted.
I mostly agree with Michael who supported the War Measures Act. Although some innocent people were caught in the crossfire, none of them lost their lives or were dangerously harmed. The October Crisis is the perfect example of what happens when people believe they can take the law into their own hands instead of peacefully dealing with problems. Harming people and property with bombs isn’t a good way to prove why an area should obtain independence. I believe that restoring peace was the right decision and that violence wasn’t the right way to get a result.
