People ate fish from the sea. They sailed all over the sea -- from Phoenicia to Carthage to Gibraltar to Egypt, to Spain to Italy to Greece to Palestine.

Many people, especially from Greece and Phoencia, established colonies in other lands around the Mediterranean.
