Voice Explanation:

"During the Cuban Missile Crisis of October 1962, tensions escalated between the United States and the Soviet Union when U.S. reconnaissance flights revealed that the Soviets were deploying nuclear missiles in Cuba. President John F. Kennedy responded by imposing a naval blockade around Cuba to prevent further shipments of military equipment. For thirteen days, the world teetered on the brink of nuclear war as both leaders navigated a delicate balance of power. In the end, a secret agreement was reached: the Soviets would dismantle their missiles in Cuba, and the U.S. would remove its missiles from Turkey. This event is significant because it marked a critical moment in the Cold War, emphasizing the destructive potential of nuclear weapons and the importance of diplomacy in avoiding direct military conflict."
