An organisational structure (OS) is the way the lines of reporting work. It shows how an organisation is structured regarding who manages whom and who reports to whom. All projects have an organisational structure, which can sometimes be a matrix or functional structure. Assume that the project you have chosen in PAT 1 has a functional organisational structure.
Apart from knowing who reports to whom and how the hierarchy of the organisation works, it is very important that communication within any project is clear and transparent. Decisions should be made during the planning phase on the methods of communication that will be used. Considering the COVID-19 pandemic, organisations were forced to change some of the ways they communicate, as many team members were forced to work from home and face-to-face contact was limited.
As a result of COVID-19, it has become even more important to accurately plan and control the activities of each project as team members had to cope without other members on site.
