I disagree.
Third graders get a start on algebra with problems like this:
3 times some number is 6. What is "some number?"
3x = 6
x = 2

Yes, 3rd graders do begin algebra. What goes in the missing blank.
3 + blank = 10. In future grades the students will learn that the blank will actually turn into x or y.

Most 3rd graders learn some algebra., but from fourth grade it gets a little more complicated so an example for the third grade algebra is :
3×?=15
3×?=15

No, 3rd graders don't get algebra. 4th can get those really easy ones such as 2*?=32. 5th is more of rounding decimals and things like that. Algebra doesn't come in until like 7th grade.

Sometimes 3rd graders can, but just those really easy ones like 3*?= 12. But this really depends on where you are, because different places have different learning methods.

NO! THEY NEED TO BE PREPARED To learn ALGEBRA!
THINK ABOUT THIS!
can you expect a kindergartener to learn multiplication and division? NO! THEY HAVEN'T LEARNED THROUGH MULTIPLICATION AND HARDLY LEARNED ADDITION!
HOW IS A THIRD GRADER SUPPOSED TO LEARN HOW TO DO ALGEBRA IF THEY HAVEN'T WORKED THROUGH ALL THEIR MATH AND HAVEN'T LEARNED ABOUT PRE ALGEBRA EQUATIONS OR MULTIPLICATION? THEY NEED TO GO THROUGH THINGS IN ORDER!
ASK A KINDERGARTENER WHAT 3 TIMES 20 is. THEY WON'T KNOW, they haven't gotten through the math. NOW ASK A THIRD GRADER WHAT is 20x + 10? THEY WON'T KNOW THEY HAVEN'T GOTTEN THROUGH IT ALL... SO THEY WON'T KNOW. YOU NEED TO TAKE THEIR MATH ONE STEP AT A TIME!
