● Parallelism: repeating grammatical structures
● Rhetorical questions: asking a question whose answer is self-evident
Repetition and parallelism are also often used in poetry to emphasize an idea or excite an emotion.
Read this passage below from Speech in the Virginia Convention by Patrick
