I have the qustion 2x+5=-7, and I've figured out that I have to subtract 5 from both sides. However, now I'm left with a plus sign that I don't know what to do with? What do I do next? HELP! THIS IS COMONG FROM A BALLERINA, AND I HATE MATH!

2x+5=-7

This equation means that 2 times some number plus 5 = -7

2x + 5 - 5 = - 7 + (-5)
2x = -12
x = ?
