i am having problems with this current equation.
10/(5+x)= 12
so far i have tried to multiply both sides by x+5 but then my answer is x = 4.16... and im thinking its wrong. Thanks in advance and if possible answer with a explaination would be greatly appreciated so i can so similar problems by myself

10/(5+x)= 12
10 = 12(5+x)
10 = 60 + 12x
10 - 60 = 12x
-50 = 12x
-4.16666 = x
-4.17 = x
I got about the same answer. :-)
Change the signs and round off.
If you substitute -4.1666 for x in the equation, you'll find it's right.
10 = 12(5+x)
10 = 60 + 12x
10 - 60 = 12x
-50 = 12x
-4.16666 = x
-4.17 = x
