I don't have a text. i'm supposed to look it up online. i'm not sure-it would either be a good or bad reaction.

Please Google South Africa apartheid. If you post what you've learned about apartheid, we'll be glad to help you with your question.
Answered by erin
ok. About apartheid...I've learned that it was the legal separation of whites and blacks.
Answered by Ms. Sue
What else do you know about apartheid?
Answered by Eve
um...i'm not sure. Well, they had separate places-like schools, beaches, and stuff like that, for blacks and whites. whites were said to be better than blacks, even though they weren't. surprisingly enough, it was legal.

But I don't know what the Western viewpoint is, so...
Answered by Ms. Sue
There's your key! You said "surprisingly enough, it was legal."

The western nations were appalled by apartheid and boycotted the products produced there. We lauded the heroes who fought against apartheid, such as Nelson Mandela and Bishop Desmond Tutu.
