Gandhi's quest to eliminate untouchability can be seen as both a success and a failure. He worked really hard to promote the idea that all people are equal and even created a movement called the Harijan movement to uplift the untouchables, whom he called "Children of God." Although he made a significant impact by raising awareness and encouraging social change, untouchability still exists in various forms in India today. Therefore, while he was successful in changing some minds and laws, the complete elimination of this deep-rooted practice was not fully achieved during his lifetime.
