A situation where I encountered a disagreement outside of explicit activism was when I had a conversation with my grandpa who said racism isn't a thing anymore. I disagreed because of things I learned in this class, like how unfair systems still affect African Americans now. Instead of arguing, I gave him real facts and examples, like redlining and school inequality. We didn’t fully agree with each other, but I stayed calm and I think I did make him a little bit more open-minded.
