But what does the phrase “I forgive you” really mean? Is the person you hurt saying that your friendship has been fully restored? Forgiveness can be complicated because it may not always mean complete restoration of the relationship, just as mentioned in Colossians 3:13, where we're encouraged to forgive as the Lord forgives us.
