we need help and the steps to solve 5x-y=18 and 5x+6y=-38. we need the ordered pairs if any. So far we came up with (6,-9). Thanks Team A

I hope you subtracted the two equations to get
-7y = 56
y = -8
subbing back in I got
5x - (-8) = 18
5x = 10
x = 2
So they intersect at (2,-8)
Subbing your point in either equation does not work, you should have tried that.
