Can someone please give me an example that illustrates how one's cognitive processes can shape some aspect of personality. thank you?

I've always been good with words and picked up new vocabulary easily. As a late teenager, I learned that people thought I was smarter than I thought I really was because of my wide vocabulary. So then I made a conscious effort to appear smart by using an educated vocabulary.
