3/4 = 6/8
Imagine a pizza that you cut into fourths. You decide the pieces are too big, so you cut each piece in half. You now have 8 pieces. Your friends eat 6 of the 8 pieces -- which is 3/4 of the pizza.
To do it mathematically --
To change 3/4 so that it has 8 as a denominator, divide 8 by 4 = 2
2 * 3 = 6
