The Mystery of the Stolen Wallet

Sam was thrilled when his father gave him an old wallet that had belonged to his grandfather, and he was even happier when he found a crisp $20 bill tucked inside the wallet’s sleek folds. Sam’s dad raised an eyebrow and said, “How about that: I guess your grandfather left you a present.”

The next day, Sam anticipated a hectic schedule but also hoped that his best friend, Amir, would join him for pizza after school. have some extra money to spend. Let’s go!”

As Sam reached into his pocket to pull out the twenty dollar bill, he gasped in horror. The bill was gone. Frantically, he checked all of his pockets, but the money was nowhere to be found. Amir frowned, “That’s strange. Maybe you dropped it somewhere?”

Feeling dejected, Sam retraced his steps back into the school, searching the hallways and classrooms he had visited that day. Just as he was about to give up hope, he spotted something glimmering on the floor near his locker. It was the $20 bill! Sam picked it up and sighed in relief.

Once they were seated at the pizza place, Sam recounted the story to Amir. “I have no idea how it fell out of my pocket,” he admitted. “But I’m just glad I found it. I’m not sure what I would have done if it was lost for good.”

Amir nodded, “Well, at least it’s all sorted now. Just be more careful next time, okay?”
