I assume this your equation 3x^2 + 7x +1-2x^2-5x+3
I also assume you are trying to reduce it.
So just combine the like terms by that I mean the one with the same powers.
So...
3x^2 + 7x +1-2x^2-5x+3 ==> x^2 +2x+4 is your answer.
3x to the second power +7x + 1- 2x to the second power - 5x +3?
This is for my sister please help.
(p.s. i'm only in 6th grade)

Hmmm. If we assume the usual carelessness with parentheses, it might be
3x^2 + 7x +1 - (2x^2-5x+3)
= x^2 + 12x - 2
3x^2 + 7x +1 - (2x^2-5x+3)
= x^2 + 12x - 2
Thanks she got it right!
