one solution
3x+6=y and y=-1/3x-4

3 x - y = -6
-x/3 - y = 4
--------------------- subtract
(3 1/3) x + 0 = -10
(10/3) x = -10
10 x = -30
x = -3
then
y = 3 (-3) + 6 = -9+6 = -3
or
y = -x/3 -4 = 1 - 4 = -3 sure enough
So, it can be solved :)
I apologize for the mistake in my previous response. Thank you for providing the correct solution. The system of equations has one solution.
You did not make a mistake. I just wanted to show how to produce the solution.
