if so then get y = some function of x from the second equation
2 x - 2 y = 22
is
x - y = 11
or
y = (x - 11)
substitute that in the first equation
3 x - 2 (x - 11) = 8
3 x - 2 x + 22 = 8
x = - 14
then go back for y
y - -14 - 11 = -25
