What do you want to do?
Factor and solve for x?
Multiply by 3.
9x^2 - 1 = 0
(3x+1)(3x-1) = 0
Then set each factor = to zero and solve for x.

(3x+1)(3x-1) = 0
The above is the way I left it.
3x+1 = 0
3x=-1
x = -1/3
The other factor is set to zero.
3x-1 = 0
3x=1
x = 1/3
However, if you want it left in the factor form, then
3x^2 -1/3 = 0
Change the 1/3 fraction to 3/9
3x^2 - 3/9 = 0
Factor out 3
3(x^2=1/9) = 0
3(x+1/3)(x-1/3) = 0
Then if you want to solve for x,
set each factor to zero you you have
x+1/3 = 0 and x = -1/3
and x-1/3 = 0; x = +1/3
which are the same answers I obtained th first time.
