Note that q^6 is the square of q^3. You have the difference of two squares. That always factors easily. Also factor out the 8.
16v^2-2q^6 = 8(2v^2 -q^6)
= 8*(sqrt2*v - q^3)(sqrt2*v+ q^3)
16v^2-2q^6 = 8(2v^2 -q^6)
= 8*(sqrt2*v - q^3)(sqrt2*v+ q^3)
