Let N=the number of nickels (5 cents).
Dimes (10 cents), D = 3N+1
Pennies (1 cent), P = N+10
Then
5N + 10(3N+1) + 1(N+10) = 452
36N + 20 = 452
Solve for N (=12) and the rest of the coins.
