In the story, "A Worn Path", by Eudora Welty, An elderly African American woman, named Phoenix Jackson, embarks on a long and tedious journey through the woods accompanied by seemingly unforseen forces working against her that are trying to deter her from reaching her goal of attaining the much needed medicine for her sick grandson who has swallowed lye. Nevertheless, the idea of love conqueres love, enables Phoenix to overcome the physical, mental, and physcological barriers that present themselves.

I think it sounds really good but you need to work on making it into more sentences. The beginning is a very long run on sentence.
