When we look at the two histograms of Mr. Hanley's and Ms. Balch's classes, we can see that Mr. Hanley's class did better on the exam. His class has a lot of scores in the 80-100 range, especially with 5 students scoring 90-100. In contrast, Ms. Balch's class has more students scoring in the lower ranges, like 60-70 and 50-60, so their scores are more spread out. Since Mr. Hanley's class has more high scores and fewer low scores, it looks like they understood the Algebra better than Ms. Balch's class.
Mr. Hanley and Ms. Balch gave an identical Algebra final exam to their classes. The histograms show the distribution of the scores for each class. In 3–5 sentences, compare the histograms and explain which class you think performed better on the exam. Use information from the histograms such as data skew as well as median scores for both classes to justify your response.
