To find the five-number summary of the eggs laid, we look at the minimum, first quartile (Q1), median, third quartile (Q3), and maximum. For our numbers (0, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8), the minimum is 0, Q1 is 2, the median is 4, Q3 is 7, and the maximum is 8. A box plot would show a box from 2 to 7 with a line at 4, and lines going out to 0 and 8. This means most days we had a lot of eggs, but sometimes there were a few days with no eggs at all! The box plot helps us see that the data is a bit spread out, showing both high and low egg days.
