Well, it's been 9 years since 9/11 and I was shocked when it happened. Why did the people and the government of the States not see this coming?

How do you think we could have seen this disaster coming?

I guess the U.S. government did not take terrorism seriously. And the American people were stunned after the tragedy, Ms. Sue.

Anyways Ms. Sue, do you remember where you were on September 11, 2001?

Ms. Sue
Of course, I remember where I was. I was on the Internet at 9 a.m. when my grandson, a college freshman, IM'd me and told me.
I believe we took the possibility of terrorism seriously, but it's not easy to prepare for something that has never happened. The government had so much data that it was nearly impossible to connect the dots -- as has been done after the fact.

9:00 a.m.? The first plane crash occured at 8:46. I wonder if you turned on your TV afterwards.

I rarely turn on the TV. But Andrew had his on -- and after he told me, I turned my TV on.

I think you must've seen the second plane hit the South Tower at 9:03 on TV and it was shocking. I was shocked, too when I saw that for the first time that day.
