I need to see step-by-step how to find an equation of line containing pairs of points: use y= mx+b form. (-7,-8), (-3,-6)
Here is what I have so far:slope(m) is 1/2
y-(-8)=m(x-x1)
y-(-8)=1/2(x-x1)
y-(-8)=1/2x-(-7)
y-(-8)=1/2x-(-7/2) I think this is where I messed up. The negative numbers mix me up. Can someone look over what I have so far and correct and finish? I have several of these to do. Thank you so much. These are all due today.
