What Careers Am I Interested In?
Required Materials
Word processing software
Weebly (requires login)
Video recording device (optional)
You’ve been introduced to a few careers throughout the course. Now, it’s time to dig deeper and search for careers that you might be interested in pursuing someday!

As part of your work, you will identify job opportunities and accompanying duties and tasks, and investigate and explore career opportunities in the IT field and report your findings.

Step 1: Take a Personality Test
Sometimes, it’s hard to know what kind of career would be a good fit for you. That’s where a career personality test can help. Head over to the website Truity and take their career personality profiler test.

Answer the questions as honestly as you can based on your current interests, keeping in mind that everyone changes over time. You can always revisit this personality test in the future as you grow and your interests evolve.

In a new word processing document, make a note of your top work style, top two career areas of interest, and top two suggested careers.

Step 2: Research
Choose three IT-related careers and conduct some initial research on these careers. Don’t worry if you didn’t get any IT-related careers on your Truity personality test. Just choose IT careers that look like they roughly fit your career interest areas.

You might start by using a career website such as My Future, where you can type in a career and see general information about it, including a description, job outlook, similar careers, average salary, and education requirements. Compare what you find on this website to information from TWO additional sources.

In your word processing document, cite the sources you used.

Step 3: Summarize
Add a new page to your Weebly website. On this web page, summarize:

The findings of your personality test in Step 1
The three careers of interest that you chose in Step 2
Make sure to describe the duties or tasks of each career.

You might choose to create a web page with images and text, or you might consider including video. Whatever your approach, try to make the web page visually appealing, well-balanced, and engaging. Also, always use your own words—do not copy from the internet.

At the bottom of your new web page, add a section for your sources and copy the source information you recorded in Step 2.

Step 4: What to Submit
When you have finished editing your website, click Publish in the upper-right corner. Then, submit the URL to the dropbox.
