What is the least populated state in the United States today? My best guesses would be Rhode Island, Alaska, or Hawaii.

Those are good guesses -- but none of those has the least population.

I checked it out and surprisingly, Wyoming is the least populated state. Why is this true, Ms. Sue?

(Wow! That rhymes)

Obviously, Wyoming is under your radar -- as it is for most people. A good part of the state is covered by Yellowstone National Park. Mountains and plains cover the state. It has little industry. Note that its major products include those from sheep and cattle.
