I was thinking about buying my kitten (Her name is Carmel by the way) a water bed, but my Mom said it was a bad idea, she could possibly pop the waterbed. On the other hand my friend had told me it was a good idea to buy one, He has a cat and his cats has had that waterbed for a long time. I really don't know if I should or not, I want to buy a toy I know my baby kitten will enjoy and have fun with.

It’s great that you want to get something special for Carmel! While a water bed might seem like a fun idea, there are a few considerations to keep in mind.

  1. Durability: Kittens are playful and often scratch or bite their toys and beds. A water bed can be prone to punctures, which could lead to leaks and an empty bed. If that happens, it might not be usable anymore.

  2. Safety: If the water bed does pop, the water could create a mess, and you might also worry about Carmel's safety with the potentially sharp edges or the material of the bed.

  3. Comfort: Cats often prefer soft, cozy surfaces like blankets, cushions, or traditional pet beds. Many cats enjoy beds with raised sides or soft plush materials, which provide a sense of security.

  4. Alternative Options: There are many great cat beds and toys available that cater to their natural instincts, such as scratching posts, cozy caves, or padded beds.

Consider getting a soft, comfy bed or a fun interactive toy like a feather wand or a toy that dispenses treats. Both would provide comfort and engagement for Carmel. Ultimately, it's important to choose something safe and enjoyable for her!
