To solve for P in
A=P+Prt
you would arrange all terms containing P on the left, and everything else to the right, namely:
-P-Prt=A
Now factor using the distributive property:
-(1+rt)P=A
Divide both sides by the coefficient of P:
P=-A/(1+rt)
A=P+Prt
